When writing articles or blogs on domestic and family violence, we request that you please include our tagline at the end of your piece, alongside 1800RESPECT.

Men’s Referral Service is a national hotline that is the central point of contact for men taking responsibility for their violent behaviour.

For too long the focus has been on helping women and children who are hurt by abuse – not on stopping the men from hurting them in the first place.

We need to shift the burden: to remove it from the victim-survivors and place it firmly on the men who use violence.

By including the numbers for organisations that can help men change their behaviour you are shifting the burden for change from victim-survivors, onto the men who harm them.

It is only through engaging with men that we can end their use of violence and abuse towards family members.

Including our tagline in your article allows men impacted by media coverage to know where they can go to change their behaviour.
