Board Statement: CEO Leadership Transition at No to Violence

After three years as CEO of No to Violence, Phillip Ripper has decided that this is the right time to begin transitioning from the role.

NTV is entering an important new phase. Its newly released Strategic Plan 2026–30: Growing a movement sets a clear and ambitious direction for the organisation, alongside the establishment of Men’s Family Violence Services Australia (MFVSA) as a fully independent organisation that will take on NTV’s successful multi-session and place-based services.

Under this new structure, NTV will have a more focused role as the national peak body, working alongside members and partners to grow a movement to end men’s use of domestic and family violence, influence governments and systems, amplify the expertise of the sector and build capability across Australia.

With that direction now set, and the demerger creating greater clarity about NTV’s future role, Phil and the Board believe this is a natural point to transition to the leader who will take the organisation through its next stage of impact.

Phil will remain with NTV through the demerger, the recruitment of his successor and a handover period. This is expected to take around six months, through to late 2026 and potentially into early 2027, providing substantial time to recruit carefully, maintain continuity and support a successful handover.

A national search for NTV’s next CEO will commence at the end of this week.

The Board expresses its deep gratitude to Phil for his leadership and commitment to NTV. During his time as CEO, he has guided NTV through a significant period of growth, change and strategic development, helping position it strongly for the future.

The Board looks forward to continuing to work with Phil over the coming months as NTV progresses these changes and continues its work to improve the safety of victim-survivors, women and children and build a future free from men’s use of domestic and family violence.
