Today the Premier of Victoria and Minister for the Prevention of Family Violence announced new locations for the Orange Doors in Victoria. These include Inner Eastern Melbourne, Ovens Murray, Southern Melbourne, Outer Gippsland and Wimmera South West DHHS areas.  All services are expected to commence operations during 2021.  

Formal advice regarding the allocations from last week’s funding announcement is still to be advised, although No to Violence understand these have formally been approved by the Minister for the Prevention of Family Violence and will be advised through funded agency channels very soon.

Noting the implications of the COVID-19 service guidelines for perpetrator programs, No to Violence has also been working with Family Safety Victoria on updating the text of the service guidelines, and hopes to consult with members next week on the changes in wording.
