No to Violence is looking forward to working with the re-elected Coalition Government to end men’s family violence.
No to Violence Chief Executive Officer Jacqui Watt said:
“We congratulate the new Federal Government and we welcome its commitment to domestic and family violence.
“However, we urge the Morrison Government to recognise the need for programs and interventions for men who use family violence.
“Without a substantial increase in funding to strengthen and expand programs for men’s behaviour change, Australia will continue to experience high rates of domestic and family violence.
“The evidence shows that it is only through increased intervention and engagement with men that we can contribute to the safety of women and children.
“We look forward to working with the government to help ensure sufficient funding to ensure these interventions can take place. It is by ending men’s violence that families can have happier, safer and more fulfilled lives.”
