Making better use of existing administrative data
Making better use of existing administrative data is a priority of The Australian National Research Agenda to End Violence against Women and Children (ANRA) 2023–2028. This webinar was the first in a series designed to support the implementation of the ANRA, and will explore the six ways of working and ways of knowing. NTV’s Head of Advocacy, Policy and Research, Rebecca Buys, features as a panelist in this webinar.
A Multidimensional Approach to Responding to Family Violence
This webinar hosted by No to Violence and Family Life explores how the safety of women and children can be the key focus of working with men who use family violence to change their violent behaviour – even alongside practices that balance compassion and accountability in working with those men to stop them using domestic and family violence.
Sexualised Violence in Intimate Partner Relationships
This webinar addresses sexualised violence and coercion when working with users of intimate partner violence, to further encourage open and respectful conversation on this often-taboo topic. A panel is led by Karen Willis (Rape & Domestic Violence Services Australia) with guest panelists Phil Jones (Men and Family Centre Lismore), Vincent Silk (Thorne Harbour Health), Kyalie Moore (No to Violence), and Georgia Archbold-Digby (Relationships Australia Victoria). Elena Robertson (No to Violence) presented on Sexualised Violence in Intimate Partner Relationships and Sal Dennis (Insight Exchange) presented on the Insight Exchange resource ‘My dignity – my body is mine’.
Pornography: How its use shows up in the work with men and what victim-survivors are saying
This video includes a presentation from Michael Flood, Pornography: 10 points in 10 minutes followed by a panel discussion including representatives from Relationships Australia Victoria, Men and Family Centre, and No To Violence. The discussion centers around an exploration of pornography use, how it shows up in the work with men, and what victim survivors are saying.
Enhancing responses to young men using Intimate Partner Violence
Research in both Australia and Internationally highlights that use of violence during adolescence can feature in the trajectory towards adult family violence. However, specialist practice, training and responses to young men using harm and violence in intimate partner relationships is largely absent from the Australian family violence discourses.
After 2 years of cross-sector collaboration, in 2022 No to Violence (NTV) and the Youth Support and Advocacy Service (YSAS) established a formal training partnership that merged the specialisation and expertise of both agencies in areas of family violence prevention, men’s behaviour change, youth and youth substance use. This partnership has led to the development of unique and innovative training focused on the practice skills necessary for engaging young men who use intimate partner violence. This presentation will explore the process of collaboration, the key learnings that have evolved through the partnership and important role of early intervention with young men in preventing intimate partner violence and future family violence.
Webinar Series – Collaboration in Action: Putting MARAM into practice across the service system
No To Violence (NTV), The Centre for Excellence in Child and Family Welfare (The Centre) and Safe and Equal are collaborating to create a four-part webinar series.
The webinar series will explore MARAM aligned collaborative practice for the safety and wellbeing of children, young people, and adults experiencing family violence. In addition to young people using violence in the home and young adults aged 18-25 using IPV. With the anticipation around the release of the MARAM child and young person practice guides in 2026 we believe this is a timely opportunity to draw on some of the sector’s experience and learnings in this area.
The webinar will draw upon expertise in responding to young adults using Family Violence. This webinar series is funded by Family Safety Victoria through the MARAM Sector Support Program.
