The No to Violence Community Guidelines outline acceptable behaviour across all our social media channels and communities.
These guidelines will assist in ensuring a safe and respectful environment on our social media channels for all the various communities that wish to engage with our work and our content.
Purpose of our social media channels
No to Violence is Australia’s national peak body for organisations and individuals who work with men to end family violence. Our team works for members and our community through Advocacy, Training, Workforce and Sector Development and the men’s family violence telephone counselling service, Men’s Referral Service (MRS).
Our goal is to end men’s use of family violence.
Our social media communities can play a vital role in raising awareness across Australia about NTV’s work and the support we provide to men who choose to use violence in their relationships. By promoting our services, research, training and advocacy work, as well as other information about domestic and family violence, together we strengthen the family violence sector and empower men to access the resources they need to understand the impact of their actions and take responsibility for their behaviour.
NTV shares information on our social media channels about the services we offer, including what to expect when men contact us, and information related to domestic, family and sexual violence.
We encourage you to join the discussion respectfully; to leave comments and links that support men to take that step to reach out for help. At all times we welcome your constructive and respectful feedback.
No to Violence has accounts on Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
The Men’s Referral Service has accounts on Facebook and Instagram.
Protect yourself and others
For your protection, please don’t include personal or sensitive information (such as case numbers, birth date, home address, phone number, driver’s licence number or tax file number) in your posts or comments. This includes your own personal or sensitive information or the information of others. We will never request your personal information via a public facing online channel. NTV will remove any posts that we believe disclose or expose any personal or sensitive information.
