We are deeply saddened by the passing of Fiona Richardson MP and we express our sincere condolences to her family, friends and all who were lucky enough to meet her.

In her personal and professional life, Fiona led much of the rapid progress seen in Victoria to bring family violence into the public consciousness. She has implemented lasting reforms that have improved and undoubtedly saved lives.

Fiona’s bravery to tell her own story of family violence, and political strength to put family violence reform on the state agenda, has emboldened our sector to challenge men’s violence and keep more women and children safe.

She will be missed, her efforts never forgotten. Our thoughts are with the Richardson family during this time.
