Collaborative Campaigns

At No to Violence we firmly believe collaboration and collective action with allies is the best way to achieve real and lasting change.

We collaborate with a number of allies and campaigns that are linked to our organisational values and vision of a world free of male violence.

If you feel any of these campaigns and activities are relevant to your own work, please reach out to them via the links below.

Raise the Age campaign

Every young person deserves to be treated with dignity. Trauma-informed, therapeutic responses need to be prioritised – not punitive, criminal justice responses.

Yet right now across Australia, children as young as 10 can be arrested by police, charged with an offence, hauled before a court and locked away in a prison.

In September 2024, NTV formally joined the ‘Raise the Age’ campaign and released this position statement in support of our position. We encourage other family violence organisations to join too.

Economic Abuse through Government Systems

Economic and financial abuse is one of six key areas of focus in the National Plan, yet government systems are being used as a tool of economic abuse.

The intersections between government systems create gaps that are being exploited by perpetrators, through social security, family law, child support, bankruptcy, corporations, tax, migration, and more. Without government oversight or consistent information sharing, victim survivors are falling through the cracks while perpetrators escape accountability.

Economic abuse can only be addressed through a whole-of-government commitment. We need an inter-departmental taskforce on financial abuse, appropriate funding, staffing and training for the Australian Public Service, and a whole-of-government framework for debt collection.

Raise the Rate

Raise the Rate for Good is an initiative of the Australian Council of Social Service. It’s a community of over 20,000 people working to ensure everyone has enough to cover the basics and an initiative that No to Violence fully supports.

People with lived experience of the income support system are at the heart of our campaign, working to lead political and social change.

We mobilise the power of our community to hold our leaders accountable, build an evidence base, and share our stories to change the narrative of poverty in Australia.

Together, we work alongside allies from community organisations, anti-poverty networks, unions, business groups, academics, and not-for-profit organisations to build an undeniable call for action.

Safe Homes, Equal Futures

YWCA Australia is a leading national not-for-profit organisation that has been championing women’s rights and gender equality for over 140 years. It’s purpose is to enable women and gender-diverse people to find stability, safety, and security, allowing them to build the future they envision for themselves and their families.

The Safe Homes, Equal Futures campaign is YWCA Australia’s call to action for the new federal government and all political parties. At its heart is a five-point plan to address Australia’s urgent housing crisis and ensure gender-responsive solutions for women and gender-diverse people.

No to Violence is proud to have signed up to support this campaign.
